I’m not inclined to believe in any religion or anything but one thing I tend to agree with is being present.
Today, my father, his 2nd wife, their 2 kids, and I went to a museum amongst other things. They seemed to be more focused on taking pictures and recording mini videos of everything than really concentrating on their surroundings, as well many of the museum visitors. I didn’t really get it. Why are you taking so many pictures? Just observe and remember your favorite parts when you leave and think back about today. I don’t see why making your kid stand in front of this fossil-sculpture-thing in a photo is so important. Let the children read the info and be amazed at what people have discovered just from a “couple of bones” and feed their minds. Let them appreciate the creativity of the architects — making a bunch of rocks look interesting can be difficult and creating a theater with a 360’ screen + spherical room in the middle of a structure with a TON more things going on is amazing. The photos have nothing to do with the experience. Be present, have a good experience instead of faking a good experience through a couple smiling photos.
Sometimes my boyfriend annoys me with his phone usage. I know, you have to check this and that, but you can bear to put the phone down, really. Nobody’s that important that you have to check on them every 30 mins in your news feed/messages/etc. It can wait. Be aware of your surroundings and think about them…stop taking out your phone every time I go to the bathroom for a whole 90 seconds… I get taking a break to check some stuff on your phone but honestly you can deal with just twice a day. It’s really not that important. I guarantee you don’t care that much. You were fine with not knowing everyone’s thoughts and moves 2.5 years ago, so why do you have to know so bad now?
I’m not a technophobe in the slightest and I know how to figure out most devices easily, but I really don’t like seeing us treating smartphones as an extension of our bodies… It’s like weed — not exactly harmful but you suffer indirect side effects.
I feel really weird now that I’ve been sitting on my ass for most of the week because of studying.. I’m not upset I studied but I don’t like this sacrifice.
I tested Walmart’s brand of bottled water and I was shocked to see they sell the most toxic water ever. I tested for Total Dissolved Solids using a TDS meter and the number I got was 271. THAT IS THE MOST TOXIC WATER I HAVE EVER SEEN. Even NYC tap water TDS score is 39. Poland Spring is 42. The water is not even drinkable. I think it’s Criminal to even make profits from selling this water filled with sodium fluoride and who knows what else is in that. 500 ppm (parts per million) is the EPA Maximum but even though the FDA is corrupt their recommended is 000, which is pure.
THE ONLY BOTTLED WATER THAT READS 000 IS DUANEreade/Walgreens ‘NICE’ branded water.

uh.. John Stewart is on Comedy Central, I don’t understand why he’s obligated to focus on the news?
He’s not. He’s obligated to be entertaining. However, I find that his viewers forget he is really just an entertainer who chooses to make jokes about content news sources show as opposed to an entertainer that chooses to make jokes about his friends & family (which is more obviously JUST an entertainer). His viewers find him to be a primary source of news instead. That’s not his fault, but he is ignoring his effect on the viewers that is past the first few laughs.

I don’t like how theory is always taught separate from practicality, or even first. You should always put them together. Why should I waste time and be misinformed thinking everything’s exactly like the theory when it rarely is? If I was a professor I’d be very very good at my job…then again, I’d be good at most things that require explanation.
